2022 The Year of Web3?

We did see many projects emerging in the past year, NFT, Metaverse, Gamefi, most of you may have found these kind of projects from Force Web3 Community, we do still have the desire to educate people about Web3, that means we will continue to work hard to organize events, seminars, and hackathons about different kinds of projects related/built toward to the web3 world, and we have no doubt about blockchain as the backbone of the next generation of internet.

2021 has passed, as a community who want to build a strong and loyal customer base, we are under the right way to do so, paving the way to a Web3.0 world.

The origin of web3

The term of Web3.0 as a description of the next generation of internet can be traced back to a blog published by then Ethereum Co-founder and CTO, now the Polkadot founder, Dr. Gavin Wood.

During which he described a Web3 world or “post-Snowden” web with a fundamentally different model for the interactions with different parties, a system can be engineered mathematically to enforce assumptions, privacy, and value.

In the end of his blog, he encouraged people to “Say ‘hello’ to Web 3.0, a Secure Social Operating System”.

Why do we need Web3?

The answer is pretty easy, think about what the Web2 or current version of the internet cannot give you or satisfy you. The internet need be and should be more open, more anonymous, and more reliable.

It’s hard to find anything that can be trustworthy after or even before Edward Snowden released confidential documents about the National Security Agency in 2013 when he was an employee and subcontractor for the CIA.

After that case, some people considered him as a hero while the others perceived him as a traitor who lived in Russia, just like Web3 which is controversial too as some people say this is the same with current internet while someone else has a strong belief about the transformation made by Web3 in the future.

The benefits of Web3 are hard to neglect as blockchain mogul and venture capitals like a16z are striving to make it clear:

· You have your own control over your data, not Google, Facebook alike

· Internet security and privacy enhanced to a new level

· Incentivized by cryptocurrencies to vote, speak, create, share and so on

How to build Web3?

Everything will be decentralized with Web3, you need to have a decentralized internet identity to integrate with decentralized apps which are powered by decentralized computation and storage.

During which, we have seen the shadow of the decentralized identity from popular NFT Avatars from CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) which are pretty insane and keep attracting people to get involved into a crypto world.

While you are wondering about what the avatar means to you, people consider it as a path to Web3, it’s valuable, unique, and only belongs to you.

Another path to Web3 has to be a wallet like MetaMask or Domain Name Service like ENS. As the time went by, we may see one of them will stand out or with a brand-new service which can be very powerful to log into different Web3 based DApps or services.

DApps are still under development, so far, we have seen from the metaverse related services like Axie Infinity and Roblox which are popular within Generation Z, while more scenarios need to be dug out or transformed by blockchain technology.

There will be many DApps focused on different customer bases to provide Web2 like convenient and fast integrations in a decentralized way powered by blockchain.

Decentralized ID or DApps need to be built with one or more public chains, infrastructure layers like computation and storage have to be considered here if any developers want to dive into a Web3 world.

Public chains played a key role here to power these DApps to integrate with users and make it truly decentralized. We have seen Dfinity labeled as the internet computer to encourage developers to use it to build apps directly, while Filecoin as one of the largest decentralized storage services, continues to store humanity’s valuable information.

Filecoin Foundation, recently announced New York City will use Filecoin to store its open data on the decentralized file storage network.

You may now wonder how to do the governance in the decentralized Web3 world, no worries as we have the DAO, which has successfully caught people’s eyes with Constitution DAO, as a decentralized autonomous organization formed in November 2021 to purchase an original copy of the United States Constitution.

The group raised $47 million in Ether cryptocurrency which in some way opened the gate about how cryptocurrency can be used as a way to do governance, to do proposal, to vote and to create something new, to build a group of people with same idea and achieve the same goal.

In a crypto world, something new will always emerge, but nobody can neglect the power of blockchain as the backbone of Web3.

We should always embrace the development of technology with our hearts, and 2022 will be the year of Web3 because of the advanced blockchain technology and the vast number of people who are embracing it.

Congrats to be the witness of history!
