Disney’s star-making path to build a big hit IP has been smooth and unparalleled, and the spin-off economy has flourished. In the crypto world, the out-of-the-loop and hot NFT has also allowed a project called Pixel Vault to start figuring out how to build a decentralized superhero Marvel-style empire.
Its chief executive Sean Gearin said in a statement. “We don’t view our fans as customers. Our fans are both owners and builders.” This philosophy will be a big hit with creators in IP creation circles, which by its very nature means great room to create and inspire creative passion. In the DAO organization of the project, token governance can be used for the mutual benefit of creators, fans, and multiple identities with builders. In this week’s funding round, Pixel Vault closed $100 million in funding, another heavy investment by the capital market after 21 years of DApper labs.
