Only a Daredevil can Make a Fortune
If you can only install one application on your phone, what would it be? Is it a online shopping app that allows you to buy anything from anywhere, a short-form video app that will soon get you addicted, or popular games that makes you hooked? Neither of these, in my opinion, are essential.
Take the dreconian pandemic controls in China as an example, a travel or health code that can be used as an access pass is actually what the average Joe needs the most. What’s more, it could be a social app like WeChat, Discord, etc., or it may be a payment app like PayPal. Admittedly, you could still use the identity card, but it is obviously much less efficient. As a matter of fact, there’re two derivative meanings behind this.
1.Ordinary people require not just a legal identity, but also a social identity that adapts to their ever-changing surroundings. At various points in time, “social identity” takes many exterior shapes, but ultimately it is an identity affirmation that demonstrates its purity before that individual may live securely in society, create social connections, and participate in and grow the essential social sphere.
2. The Internet has now become an infrastructure that most people rely on, with many functions in one, and as society becomes more civilized, it will eventually reach out to the majority of the world’s population, whether you are old-fashioned or innovative.
Assume we live in a civilization where technology is progressing at a breakneck pace. In this context, super brain, AI, brain-computer interface, genetic modification/optimization, holographic, and other high-tech means have permeated the general public’s daily existence. You can think of it as a constantly upgraded and strengthened metaverse that will not only meet the eight elements proposed by Roblox, the metaverse’s leading company (identity, friends, immersion, low latency, diversity, availability, economic system, and civilization), but will also integrate various cutting-edge technologies to truly achieve the combination of reality and virtual space, which is equivalent to the second universe.
When technological advancement to a given level has met a stumbling block. One of the few tracks that can continually produce innovative forms will be social and entertaining.
The former holds emotion. Behavior generates connections and thereby creating socialization. when the technology reaches a certain height, emotion will become a luxury, the dispersed underclass, and the family-style aristocracy, will form a stark contrast, which implicitly signals opposing positions.
The latter carries energy, and all kinds of entertainment measures, especially holographic or real-life experiential games, will become an excellent way for the general public to vent their emotion and kill time, which not only meets the fundamental purpose of management, but also will contribute to maintaining a certain social stability. The more developed the entertainment, the more reality withers.
Of course, this is simply a personal vision of mine, and the current reality is still trapped in the ancient age following the introduction of the notion of metaverse. However, there have been several expeditions and efforts. For example, Meta, which has been making a lot of moves, calls itself — Social Metaverse, Inc. Its goal is to go beyond the 2D screen and provide users with immersive experiences such as virtual and augmented reality, thereby assisting in the creation of the next revolutionary explosion in social technology.
Another example is the Silicon Valley-based semiconductor company Nvidia, which is currently aggressively expanding into the artificial intelligence and machine vision markets, with its CEO Jen-Hsun Huang publicly discussing metaverse, AR, and VR technologies. The business has also created its own “metaverse” — the Omniverse platform, which allows for real-time collaboration between users and programs, real-time ray tracing effects, and model scalability.
The two primary categories of the metaverse in the blockchain and crypto market application field are GameFi and SocialFi. The former may become a venue for asset replacement and circulation of the metaverse’s underlying economic system via NFT; the latter allows users to log in and communicate and can operate as a switch gateway between the metaverse and actual society.
Many crypto firms have also maintained their efforts in this manner. Ready Player Me, which just got $56 million in Series B investment from a16z, allows users to create avatars and dress up in the virtual world, and its avatar customization system allows all users to utilize the same personalized avatar in any linked virtual platform, building a social identity.
PartyBoard, which is built on Dfinity, seeks to create a reliable and open social infrastructure for the metaverse while also making it easy for users to use it. Furthermore, it operates a social network to provide supplementary features such as conversing in scenes.
Axie Infinity, on the other hand, has drawn the attention of the Philippine Department of Finance, which enacted laws that make revenue made within the game liable to income tax.
GalacticWar was released on the Internet computer and launched a partnership with Polygon Studios, with both short-term and long-term plans incorporating the development and testing of virtual reality technology to engage the metaverse through VRAR, bringing players a gaming experience that gives a full range of simulated real-life scenarios in the context of galactic warfare.
A well-known novelist, Stevenson once said the best time to start a program is now, right away. An excellent concept is one that has been refined and matured in practice, rather than one that has been perfected and matured first and then put into practice. This remark could not be more appropriate in the context of new technologies, fields, markets, and industries.
The journey of life is like a constant exploratory test site, and success is eventually determined by the test out. Only a daredevil can make a fortune.
